Teistmoodi sokid

Soktoobri esimesed sokid. Alustatud kannast. Tõenäoliselt oleks tulemus pikemate värvivahetustega lõngaga parem olnud. Praegu sai pilt väga kirju. Kuna mul varasem kogemus selle meetodiga puudus, said sokid laiad. Oleksin pidanud esiage nelinurga väiksema kuduma.

First socktober socks. Started from the heel. Probably the result had been better if I had chosen a yarn with longer color runs. Right now the socks came out very colorful. I haven't knitted socks like that before and those socks came out a little wide. I should have knit smaller square.

Time for blues!

"Juhuslikult" paar nädalat tagasi lõngapoodi külastades jäi mulle näppu see lõng. Tundus mõnusate värvidega, pehme ja huvitavalt ebaühtlase jämedusega. Kuna lõng ise on nii struktuurne, sai sellest üks väga lihtne sall.

Couple of week ago I "just happened" to visit one yarn store. There I found this skein. I liked the colors, the softness and unevenness. Since the yarn itself is quite "busy" it became a simple shawl.

Palmikutega kinnaste õpetus

Kirjutasin täna õhtul veel ühe õpetuse üles. Kui sain valmis need kindad, küsis mu eelmise aasta pakivahetuse partner Stephanie, kas kirjutan ka õpetuse üles. Olin selles osas veidi kahtleval seisukohal, kuna palmikute kirja panemine tundus keeruline. Siis leidsin internetist sellise toreda lehe. Ja palmikute kirja panemine ei olnudki enam nii hirmutav.

I wrote down another pattern today. When I finished those mittens my swap partner from last year Stephanie asked me if I'm going to write down the instructions. I hesitated quite a lot because writing down cables seemed quite difficult. Then I found this page and suddenly it wasn't so scary anymore to write down cable instructions.

Veel sügisvärve

Oktoobri alguses korjasin metsast veel verkjaid vöödikuid. Kuna lõngakogus oli seente kogusega võrreldes üsna suur, sain seekord sellist lõheroosat. Tegemist on maavillase lõngaga. Proovisin teha väikese varieeruvusega lõnga. Kõigepealt panin pool vihti värvivette, lasin öö läbi seista. Siis lisasin samasse värvivette teise poole vihist. Toon tuli peaaegu sama. Erinevus on väga väike.

 

At the first weekend of October I gathered some Cortinarius semisanguines from the forest. I had quite big amount of yarn compared to the amount of mushrooms. So I got this salmon pink. It's 100% lambswool. I tried to get variegated yarn. I soaked half of the skein in the dyepot overnight. Then I put other half of the skein to the dyepot. The color is almost the same for the both halves. The difference is really small.

Lumemüts

 

See müts meenutab mulle väga lumehangesid. Seetõttu ka selline postituse pealkiri. Mul leidus selle lõnga jääk kodus ja vaatasin, et ehk veab sellest ühe mütsi välja. Jätkus täpselt. Alles jäi umbes 20 cm lõnga. 

Lõng: Sirdar Nova Super Chunky, 57 g

Vardad: 5 mm

This hat reminds me of snow. I had leftovers of this yarn and thought that maybe it's possible to knit hat from them. It was a close call. Only 20 cm of yarn remained after finishing the hat.

Sügisesed seenekindad

Seenekindad on need sellepärast, et lõngad on seentega värvitud. Pildi pealt ei saa küll hästi aru, aga heledam toon ei ole mitte valge vaid helebeež. Alumise pildi pealt saab paremini aru. Tumedam toon on saadud kasepuravikest ja hele toon on mingi puuseen. Kasepuravikega värvitud lõng on Idena Bambino Ull. Heledam lõng on Novita Nalle Aloe Vera.

Kuna toonid ei ole just kuigi kontrastsed, võttis õige mustri leidmine aega. Harutasin päris mitu korda. Lõpuks tegin lihtsalt sellised rombid.

Vardad: 2.5 mm
Lõngad: Idena Bambino Ull ja Novita Nalle Aloe Vera, kokku 70 g

I call those mushroom mittens because both yarns have been dyed with mushrooms. Photo doesn't show the lighter color very well but it's actually not white but really light beige. The photo below shows it better. Darker color is from birch boletes (yarn is Idena Bambino Ull) and lighter tone is from some polypore (yarn is Novita Nalle Aloe Vera).

Since those two color are not very contrasting then it took some time to find the right colorwork pattern. I frogged several times. Finally I settled with those simple diamonds. 

Needles: 2.5 mm
Yarns: Idena Bambino Ull and Novita Nalle Aloe Vera, all together 70 g
