Ühe ebaõnnestunud kudumi lugu

Veebruaris hakkasin kuduma pluusi Drops 101-14. Lõngaks oli Titan Wool Baby, vardad 3 ja 3,5 mm. Kudusin täpselt mustri järgi valmis. Siis tuli varrukad alt kokku õmmelda. Ma ei tea, kas muster on vigane või olen mina millestki väga valesti aru saanud, aga pilt oli selline:

Õpetuse järgi oleks ma pidanud nüüd need varruka pooled lihtsalt kokku õmblema. Mul ei oleks see aga kuidagi võimalik olnud. Seetõttu korjasin vahepealsest august silmad üles ja kudusin veel soonikut juurde ning seejärel õmblesin mõlemalt poolt varruka juurdekootud osa külge. Kui keegi soovib veel seda mustrit teha, siis tehke soonikuosad laiemad, kui mustris antud.

Ok, peitsin kõik lõngaotsad ära, pesin pluusi ära ja tõmbasin nööpnõeltega kuivama. Kui kampsun oli kuiv, selgus et see on natuke liiga suur, õigemini liiga lai, pikkust oleks iseenesest võinud hoopis rohkem olla. Lisaks oli ka kaelaauk kahtlaselt suur. Ühesõnaga ta oli üsna imeliku kujuga ja ei istunud üldse. Mõtlesin, et järsku see tõmbaks pesumasinas natuke kokku ja seejärel saaks talle parema kuju vormida. Mõeldud-tehtud.

Tulemuseks on liiga väike pluus, mille kaelaauk on endiselt imelikult suur. Ma ei teagi, mis ma sellega nüüd peale hakkan. Mulle see selga ei mahu ja mul pole erilist usku, et see ka kellelegi teisele selga istuks. Harutada ma seda ka ei saa, sest vaatamata madalale pesutemperatuurile lõng siiski vanus pisut.

I knitted the top Drops 101-14. Well, if I start to think then my last unsuccessful knitting project was quite a long time ago. So maybe it was the right time for the new one. What happened then?

Firstly, I knitted exactly as the pattern states, even my gauge was the same. Still, when I reached to sewing together the sleeves, it appeared that whether the pattern was wrong or I but the sewing them together as the pattern suggests was not possible. So I picked up the stitches from the gap between the sleeve, knitted a rib and then sewed all it together.

That was just a beginning of misadventures. I washed the top and blocked it. When it was dry it appeared that it is too big for me and also eith a bit weird shape - the neckline was too wide. So instead of ripping it all up I thought "what if I wash it in a machine? Maybe it will shrink a bit and then I can change the shape by blocking?" (Big mistake).

So I washed it and you can see the result above. It is now too small and the neckline is still too wide. In addition, I can't rip it anymore because the yarn felted a bit in the machine. So what lesson did I learn - never experiment with the washing machine, frog the thing right away! My partner thougt that it is even good that the top didn't work out, he had never liked the color I knitted it with.
