Suvevärvid

Eksperimenteerisin mitme taimega. Kõik on külmvärvimise tulemus. Kõigepealt hoidsin õisi/lehti veepurkides päiksepaistelises kohas mitu päeva ning siis panin purkidesse maarjajääga peitsitud meriinolõnga. Lõnga hoidsin purkides samuti mitu päeva.

I experimented with several plants. I used solar dyeing. First I kept blossoms/leaves in water jars for several days in a sunny place outdoors. Then I put premordanted merino yarn to the jars and kept the yarn there for several days. I used alum as mordant.

Allpool fotod nende taimdedega, millega sain lõnga koos pildistada. Mõnda taime enam pildistamise hetkes polnud.

First some photos with the plants. I didn't manage to make such photos with all the colors because I didn't have some plants anymore when dyeing was finished.

Saialill / Calendula:

Tumeroosad roosiõied / Dark pink rose blossoms:

Karikakar / Oxeye daisy:

Punane liilia / Red lily:

Alõtša lehed / Cherry plum leaves:

Ja nüüd kõige suurem üllatus. Elulõng! Selline nägi välja leotusvesi:

And now the biggest surprise. Clematis! This is how the dyeing water looked like:

Ja siin on tulemus! Sinine! Igaks juhuks loputasin lõnga äädikaga segatud vees. Äädikas pidavat värvi kinnitama.

And here's the result. Blue! Just in case I rinsed the yarn in the water where I had added a little vinegar. Vinegar is said to set the color.

Ja nüüd kogu värvipalett:
The whole color palette:

Vasakult paremale. Elulõng (Victoria), lillad roosiõied (sort Rhapsody in Blue), saialill, muraka tupplehed, karikakar, tumeroosad roosiõied, liilia, alõtša.

From left to right. Clematis (Victoria), lilac rose blossoms (Rhapsody in Blue), calendula, cloudberry sepals, oxeye daisy, dark pink rose blossoms, lily, plum cherry.
